Charity says, 'hey!'

Mayson and I just came back from a horse show in beautiful Armstrong, BC. It was so nice we got to show outside all weekend, that's always a treat. And yes, you read right, Mayson and I. We left the babe with Grandma Harrison and the boys with Grandma Schumann and went on a girls trip. It was very nice to spend that time just the two of us. And the boys had fun with their dad, they went grouse hunting and Tyreed shot his first bird. I guess they took it home and a ate it for lunch. I can't say I'm sorry I missed it, but it did make me wish we had two camera's.

Here I am doing what I do best lately - grooming. I was sweaty, dirty, my hair was a mess, no make-up, but you could have poured honey on that mare and licked it off she was so clean!

I bought Mayson a new outfit at this show, it's from a top designer and I paid 1/4 what it's worth but we are so excited! It really stands out and came with chaps as well, but she'll have to wait until next year.

I took some fun photos of them after the show. The two of them have had a tough time these last two years. They have been learning each other and figuring things out. They've had some real ups and downs with Annie taking off on Mayson a few times. They seemed to have really come together at this show, Annie was excellent the whole weekend. Mayson never won any Youth classes, there was only the two girls there and Mayson made enough little mistakes, and with only two...makes it tough. Mayson was feeling frustrated with the whole thing, but she went in her last class, Western Pleasure, and had an amazing ride and won under both judges!!! When she came out of the ring she collapsed into my arms, sobbing, both from relief and joy. I think they are going to be unstoppable next year! She ended up winning Hi-Point Novice Youth and Res. Hi-Point Youth 13 & Under, a great way to finish the show and the show year!

Annie got a bug in her ear!

Mayson in her Western Pleasure warm-up, notice the lovely attire?!

Here they are doing trail, this is the bridge and the one below is the gate. This is their best event. Mayson entered Jr Horse trail and got a 1st and 2nd earning an Open ROM. I rode her in Amateur the 3rd day and got a 1st and 2nd as well and earned our Amateur ROM. This is the first horse we've rode that has earned her ROM in all three divisions, it was very exciting!

Mayson riding english, she has been having problems, but had the best rides she's ever had!

We just got back from another horse show and had a great weekend. I love going and having fun and laughing with all our horse show friends. Tyreed got into a huge water fight, with the girls of course, and just had a blast. Tyreed showed his mare for the first time and won his first class. He won a beautiful print by a local artist that we love. Mayson had a good weekend, lots of trials, but when we reviewed on the way home, she realized what a good weekend she had. She was Grand and Reserve Champion Mare and earned 6 points. Her and Annie had earned their Youth ROM at the last show and Annie and I completed our Amateur ROM at this show and are only one half a point away from her Open ROM. We are having trouble with her being a 'mare' so I'm going to look into what I can do to make it better. Sand had a great show completing his Open ROM and winning all his classes but one. He earned a point in cutting, which just thrilled him. He also earned his highest reining scores ever with a 73.5, 75.5 and a 76. Even though the scores aren't 'real' because they aren't NRHA it's still pretty exciting. For those that don't know, a ROM is 10 points in a group of events. It's not always an easy feat to accomplish because you have to have a lot of horses in a class and win it to earn the points. I think Mayson and I will be going to one more show, but haven't made up our mind. The kids are excited about school and Mayson starts violin lessons again this week. Summer is over and I am sad to see the kids go, but excited to see them grow. We love and miss you all!

Who doesn't love polka-dots................seriously:)

Well, I did it. I broke down and got a carrier. Something I've never done before. She loved being held facing out to see everything, so I thought I'd try it. She loves it! She can see everything. She likes to go outside after supper, we do chores and go for a walk.

Charity in her carrier, wrapped in my coat.

I'm having trouble getting Char-bear to sleep through the night, so I thought I'd start feeding her pablum before bed. This is a picture of her first time. She absolutely loves it...but doesn't sleep any better!!!

Charity is really starting to love her tummy time.
