HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jaxson Flint! (Mar.11)

WOW! Can you even believe that summer is half over? On one hand, it's going way too fast, on the other, it feels like the kids have been out of school forever! We had a busy month of July and I'm looking forward to the slower pace August brings. I can't believe Charity has already been to two horse shows!...and we went slow this year! At our last show, Mayson did really well, had some really good classes, even won a Western Pleasure Stake class and won some money. She was very proud of her and Annie. She ended up Co-Res. Hi-Point Youth which was pretty amazing considering she was the 2nd youngest there and she had to compete with the big girls. At all our other shows this summer she'll compete in the 13 and Under age group. I rode Annie in a couple things as well and won a trail stake class. Sand had a good show winning his Reining class, a Ranch Cutting class and the Working Cow Horse. I also got all our haying done in a week. It was hair straight back, but it's done. I couldn't have done it without Mayson stuck in the house taking care of the baby, Tyreed on the other tractor baling, and Sand there to fix all my breakdowns! It's always a relief to be done. Sand has gone back to work and of coarse, straight out to camp! It's been a tough week, but we are thankful for the work. It means the kids and I are busy taking care of things, this week we contructed a shelter for the mares out in the pasture and replaced the wood floor on our grooming/saddling platform for the horses. It's a full time job just running the farm! We've taken the time to have fun as well, this week we went to the circus and then out to the lake to cool off with a swim. We have had record heat these past two weeks and mostly just stay in the air conditioning! We are all doing well, happy and healthy and truly have nothing to complain about!

  1. Sounds like a busy Canadian summer and you did "make hay while the sun shines". It is great seeing pictures of Charity.
